Golf course
Kitchener, Ontario
Rockway is a Stanley Thompson design that opened in 1935 as the Kitchener area's first public course and is still run by the City of Kitchener. It plays to par 70 at about 5,531 yards, with a course rating of 66.5 and a slope of 112, so it is short by modern standards and defended by mature tree lines and small greens rather than distance. It is the older and more traditional of Kitchener Golf's two sites; the other, Doon Valley on Doon Valley Drive, offers a longer par-72 eighteen plus a nine-hole Classic course along the Grand River.
