About Barriere
Barriere is a district municipality in the North Thompson Valley, about 45 minutes north of Kamloops on Highway 5. Ranching and forestry country, it sits where the Barriere River joins the North Thompson beneath dry, open hillsides that give way to the Monashee foothills. The valley shares the Thompson-Okanagan's hot, dry summers, and it is the last service town before the long run north toward Clearwater and Wells Gray.
