Golden Tee Times

Golden sits where the Kicking Horse River meets the Columbia, ringed by the Purcell and Rocky Mountains on the Trans-Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Banff. Once a railway and forestry town, it now runs on the outdoors — Kicking Horse Mountain Resort above town, rafting on the Kicking Horse, and six national parks within a short drive. The valley bottom is wide, warm and dry in summer, which is what makes golf here work at all this deep into the mountains. Its golf is a single standout course laid along the Columbia River wetlands.
