Uxbridge is a township in the north-west corner of Durham Region, set on the Oak Ridges Moraine about an hour northeast of Toronto. Known as the "Trail Capital of Canada," it's a quiet mix of small-town main street, surrounding forest, and gently rolling farmland that draws cyclists, hikers, and weekend golfers in equal measure. Several established golf properties sit just outside the town centre, including Mill Run Golf Club with its 27 championship holes and 18-hole Highland course.

Mill Run's Championship layout is built from three nine-hole loops — Grind, Grist, and Wheel — that can be paired into any of three 18-hole combinations. The Grind/Grist pairing crosses the rolling Uxbridge moraine with mature trees, well-shaped greens, and a steady mix of strategic challenges from four sets of tees. Bookable as 9 or 18 holes.

Mill Run's Grist/Wheel pairing is one of three 18-hole combinations on the club's 27-hole Championship course. Built into the rolling hills of north Durham, the routing combines the Grist nine's tighter, tree-lined corridors with the more open Wheel nine for a balanced test from any of four sets of tees. Bookable as 9 or 18 holes.

The Highland Course at Mill Run is a unique 18-hole short layout built around 13 par-3s and 5 par-4s, playing roughly 3,034 to 3,495 yards depending on the tees. It's a quick, walkable round that finishes in under three hours — perfect for after-work golf, beginners, or short-game practice. Bookable as 18 holes only.
