Killaloe is a small village in Renfrew County, deep in the Ottawa Valley and a short drive from the southern gateway of Algonquin Provincial Park. Set among the rolling, wooded hills and lakes of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards township, it is a quiet rural community known for its covered bridge, its BeaverTails origins, and easy access to canoe country and back-road touring. For golfers, the local draw is The Homestead at Wolf Ridge, an 18-hole, par-72 course that opened in 2003 and plays through the rolling, tree-lined countryside that defines this part of the valley. With wide natural corridors, mature woodland and the elevation changes typical of the Canadian Shield, it offers a scenic, unhurried round well off the beaten path.
