Golf course
Kitchener, Ontario
RiverEdge is a nine-hole public course tucked into the southeast corner of Kitchener, minutes from Highway 401 yet screened from the city by mature bush and undisturbed wetland. John F. Robinson laid it out in the late 1990s, and the routing shows his usual restraint: roughly 2,842 yards to a par of 35, with tree lines and low wet ground doing the defending rather than sheer length. Shot shaping and club selection matter more than raw distance here, and the greens reward an approach played to the correct side. It is an easy nine to fit into an evening or a lunch hour, and forgiving enough that juniors and improving players are not overwhelmed. Part of the GolfNorth family, with a licensed clubhouse and snack bar on site.
