Panorama is a four-season mountain resort village in the Purcell Mountains, about 18 km west of Invermere up the Toby Creek road from the Columbia Valley. In winter it is one of BC's larger ski areas; in summer the village becomes a base for hiking, biking and golf, with Toby Creek running through it and the Purcell peaks closing in on all sides. Everything is contained in a compact pedestrian village at roughly 1,150 m elevation, so there is no through traffic. The draw for golfers is Greywolf Golf Course, a Doug Carrick design opened in 1999 and routed across benches and creek gullies, best known for the par-3 sixth - the Cliffhanger - which plays from a tee perched above Hopeful Canyon.
