Golf course
Forest, Ontario
The nine at Forest Golf Club & Inn is the short side of this 27-hole property near the Lake Huron shore, playing to a par of 33 over about 2,057 yards from the white tees. Its origins go back to 1926, and the holes still follow the same easy-rolling ground, tucked between mature trees and the creek that cuts through the middle of the property. It is the loop to take when time is tight, when you are teaching someone the game, or when you want an extra nine after the big course. Nothing here is overpowering, so a good round comes down to accurate irons and steady putting. The clubhouse, restaurant and 75-room inn are all a short walk from the first tee.
