Huron Oaks Golf Club

Huron Oaks sits just back from the Lake Huron shoreline in Bright's Grove, on land that was once the summer estate of brewing magnate John Labatt and home to a six-hole course dating to the 1930s. The modern layout, reworked by Canadian architect Doug Carrick, plays to a par of 72 at roughly 6,500 yards from the back tees. Broad, mature oaks frame most corridors, and the rolling ground and well-shaped bunkering ask for position off the tee rather than raw distance. It is a comfortable walk with enough teeth from the tips to keep good players honest, and the lake breeze can change a club or two on the exposed holes.
