Golf course
Huntsville, Ontario
Deerhurst Highlands is the championship course at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, opened in 1990 to a design by Robert Cupp and Thomas McBroom. It plays to par 72 and stretches to just over 7,000 yards, cut through the granite ridges and dense forest of the Muskoka landscape, with large elevation changes and an opening tee shot from high above the fairway. Holes are routed in near-isolation from one another, and rock outcrops, wetlands and forced carries feature throughout. It is far more demanding than the resort's other course, Deerhurst Lakeside, a short par 63 layout of roughly 4,300 yards.
