Golf course
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
The Links at Montague opened for play in 2001 as Nova Scotia's first executive-style course, designed by Graham Cooke. It is a nine-hole layout of par 31, with par 3s at the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th and par 4s at the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th, measuring 1,880 yards from the blue tees, 1,642 from the white and 1,385 from the red. Tees, fairways and greens are bentgrass with Kentucky bluegrass rough, and the fairways and bunkers are shaped into natural slopes among hardwood stands, old farm fields and orchards. The original homestead stood on an eighty-foot hillock above Lake Loon, which is in view from the 4th, and the name comes from Col. George Montagu, who owned the land around 1850.
