Golf course
Bayside, Nova Scotia
Granite Springs Golf Club opened on 21 September 1991 on the Prospect Road toward Peggy's Cove, overlooking Shad Bay on the Atlantic coast about half an hour from downtown Halifax. It is an eighteen-hole course of men's par 73, 36 out and 37 in, with a ladies' par of 72, measuring 6,344 yards from the blue tees, 5,985 from the white and 4,794 from the red. It was built on granite bedrock, with outcroppings through the property and an unusual 42 spring-fed ponds across rolling forested acres. Rock and water are constantly in play, and the granite subsurface gives hard, unpredictable bounces.
