Mystic occupies open, rolling farmland west of Ancaster, and it was built with no housing lots to work around, so architect Tom Pearson had room for genuinely wide corridors and big shaping. It stretches to roughly 7,365 yards from the back tees at a par of 73, with truckloads of imported bunker sand and an extensive drainage system behind the conditioning. Nearly every par 4 doglegs, most involve elevation change, and no two holes repeat a shape or a distance, so the round is a steady sequence of decisions rather than a single repeated shot. The signature is the tenth, a genuine par 6 that asks you to carry three deep ravines on the way to the green. There are no blind tee shots or gimmicks here, just a strategic layout that gives good ball-striking its reward.
