Golf course
Hamilton, Ontario
Beddoe is the older and longer of the two 18-hole courses at Chedoke, Hamilton's municipal club on the Niagara Escarpment above Aberdeen Avenue, and is credited to Stanley Thompson. It plays to par 70 from three sets of tees ranging from 5,464 to 6,084 yards, and the modest yardage understates the test: the ground is rolling and treed and the greens are small and well defended. Its companion Martin course is shorter at about 5,784 yards and plays to par 70 as well, and is generally the easier walk of the two. Both are owned and operated by the City of Hamilton and named for former club presidents.
