Golf course
Marysville, Ontario
Briar Fox occupies flat, open farmland along Old Highway 2 at Marysville, a short drive east of Belleville in the Bay of Quinte country. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole layout stretches to 6,559 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 72, with four tee decks bringing it down to under 5,000 yards for shorter hitters. Fairways are generous and only partly framed by trees, so the round is more about avoiding the creeks that cross five holes and the bunkering scattered around large, receptive greens. It plays quickly and walks easily, which is a big part of why it draws a regular local crowd. The club leans into its friendly, no-fuss character right down to its motto about friends playing together.
