Golf course
Thunder Bay, Ontario
Strathcona is the City of Thunder Bay's municipal course, in play since 1925 on rolling wooded ground in the Current River area at the northeast edge of the city. The 18-hole layout runs 6,503 yards to a par of 72 with a course rating of 70.8 and slope of 117, and was reworked by architect Robbie Robinson around 1970. Four sets of tees keep it playable for beginners while still giving low handicaps something to work with off the back markers. A driving range and putting green support the clubhouse, and the season typically runs from April into early November.
