Golf course
Thunder Bay, Ontario
Chapples Golf Course is the City of Thunder Bay's municipal course, laid out on land donated by Clement E. Chapple and built from a 1947 routing drawn by celebrated Canadian architect Stanley Thompson. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 70 over about 6,050 yards along the Neebing and McIntyre river flats. It is a flat, walkable layout with tree-lined fairways and small greens that suits every skill level, and it is one of the few public Thompson designs in northwestern Ontario. A driving range, putting green, cart fleet and licensed clubhouse round out the facility.
