Golf course
Chester, Nova Scotia
Sherwood Golf & Country Club was built by its owner, John Gwynne-Timothy, from 1990, and opened to public green-fee play in 2012 after years of invitation and corporate play only. The eighteen-hole layout plays to par 71 at 5,857 yards from the gold tees, 5,661 from the white and 4,724 from the red, with a men's rating of 70.0 and slope of 139 from the golds. It is woodland rather than parkland, spread over more than 1,000 acres of South Shore forest, and the holes are fully separated from one another so that only the hole in play is visible. There is elevation change, water features and a large pond fronting fairways.
