Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
Royal Niagara is a 27-hole public club in Niagara-on-the-Lake built between the old Welland Canal, the Niagara Escarpment and the Bruce Trail, with all three nines designed by Ted Baker. The Old Canal nine is named for the historic canal that borders the property, and several of its tees are set along the canal bank; it measures about 3,560 yards to a par of 36, and pairs with either of the other nines for a par-72 eighteen. Compared with its siblings, the Escarpment nine plays up against the escarpment slope and the Iron Bridge nine runs through the flatter canal-side land. Sculpted fairways, deep bunkering and plenty of water are common to all three.
