River Spirit Golf Club (Cattails/Spirit)
About This Course
River Spirit Golf Club is a 27-hole Russ Olson-designed layout that opened in 2003 on the west edge of Calgary, set along the Elbow River with Millburn Creek winding through many of its signature holes. The facility is arranged as three distinct nines — Spirit, Millburn and Cattails — that can be combined into three different par-72 eighteens ranging from roughly 6,855 to 7,195 yards. Tree-lined parkland, undulating terrain on the Spirit and Millburn nines, and wetland areas on the flat Cattails nine give each loop a different feel. A 325-yard grass driving range, two practice putting greens and a clubhouse restaurant round out the experience just 30 minutes from downtown Calgary off Highway 8. The Cattails/Spirit combo is the longest eighteen at roughly 7,195 yards, starting flat on the Cattails nine before finishing over the more undulating, tree-lined Spirit nine.
