Golf course
Sudbury, Ontario
Pine Grove is one of five separate courses operated under the Golf Sudbury banner, sitting on Estaire Road about ten minutes south of Sudbury's Four Corners — not at the Garson address the umbrella club uses. It is an eighteen-hole layout cut out of Canadian Shield rock and pine, playing to par 64 at roughly 5,000 yards from the back tees and about 3,900 from the front, so it is short and heavy on par 3s and short par 4s. The course opened in 1967 and was reworked by architect John F. Robinson in 1988. Rock outcrops and treed corridors, rather than length, set the challenge.
