Kimberley Golf Club

Golf has been played at Kimberley since 1924, and the present semi-private 18 is a par-71 parkland course of roughly 6,400 yards laid out on undulating ground between the St. Mary River and the town. Huge larch, cedar and ponderosa pine frame the fairways and make position off the tee matter more than raw length, while the small, rolling greens punish the wrong side of the hole. The Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges stand on either horizon, which is why it is regularly called one of the prettiest courses in the Kootenays. It traded for years under the Purcell Golf name before reverting to Kimberley Golf Club.
