Golf course
Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia
Mountainside is the elder of Fairmont Hot Springs Resort's two championship courses, a Lloyd Wilder design that has been in play for more than fifty years. It measures 6,552 yards to a par of 72, with three tee sets per hole so the same layout works for a scratch player and a first-timer. The routing climbs the bench above the resort between the Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges, opening onto views of Columbia Lake and the Rockies from several tees. Tall stands of spruce and fir line the corridors and take the sting out of the valley wind.
