Golf course
Vernon, British Columbia
Established in 1913, Vernon Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest clubs in the Okanagan and still sits on its original ground between the city and Kalamalka Lake. The championship layout runs 6,609 yards to a par of 72 through mature parkland, with tree-lined corridors that ask for position off the tee rather than raw distance. The club expanded to a full 18 under Ernie Brown of Vancouver, with greens shaped by Dan Kitsul, and the finishing stretch has been the course's calling card ever since. It is a semi-private club, and public tee times open a short window ahead.
