Otter Creek Golf Club

Otter Creek sprawls over roughly 300 acres of wooded valley on the edge of Otterville in Oxford County, weaving between the Otter, Cedar and Spittler creek corridors. Designed by Canadian architect Dick Kirkpatrick and opened to the public on July 1, 2008, it plays to a par of 72 and stretches to about 7,124 yards from the championship tees, making it one of the longest tests in southwestern Ontario. The land does real work here: elevated tees drop into fairways cut through hardwood ravines, creeks and ponds guard several approach shots, and bunkering is used sparingly but well. Multiple tee decks bring the yardage back to a sensible number, though the forced carries still ask for a committed swing. It is a modern, spacious layout that feels far more secluded than its farm-country address suggests.
