Golf course
Vanderhoof, British Columbia
Omineca's front nine opens the club's 18-hole layout on the north side of the Nechako River at Vanderhoof, in the geographic centre of British Columbia. Opened in 1979, the outward half plays to a par of 36 over roughly 3,100 yards, with broad fairways lined by spruce and poplar and a gentle roll that keeps most approach shots flat. Firm northern-interior turf gives plenty of run in mid-summer, and the outward loop is the more forgiving of the two nines. The full course measures about 6,263 yards to a par of 72 and has been under local ownership since a 2023 handover from four decades of family stewardship.
