Golf course
Victoria, British Columbia
Metchosin Golf Course is a nine-hole walking course that opened in 1971 in the rural Metchosin countryside southwest of Victoria. Wide, gently rolling fairways are framed by Garry oak, poplar and Douglas fir, and a pond in the middle of the property brings water into play on the run home. Played twice from alternating tees the course measures about 5,714 yards to a par of 69, and it is friendly enough for beginners while the contoured greens keep better players honest. It is a social club at heart, with men's night, ladies' day, seniors' day and the occasional night-golf event on the calendar.
