Ironwood Golf Club

Ironwood sits in the farm country outside Exeter in Huron County, roughly half an hour from London, Stratford and the Grand Bend beaches. Originally a smaller layout, it was rebuilt and expanded to a full 18 holes in the 1990s by Ontario architect John Robinson, whose credits also include Settlers' Ghost and Conestoga. The course plays to a par of 71 at about 6,165 yards, with mature trees framing nearly every fairway and greens that are consistently among the best-conditioned in southwestern Ontario. It is a fair, walkable test rather than a punishing one, rewarding straight driving over raw length. The clubhouse patio and full restaurant make it easy to linger after the round, and nine-hole Exeter Golf Club a mile up the road turns a visit into a full day of golf.
