Highwood Golf & Country Club — Highwood 18

Highwood 18 is the championship half of a 27-hole complex on the banks of the Highwood River in High River, about an hour south of Calgary. The par-71 layout pairs the tree-lined Heritage nine with the more open, foothills-facing Mountainview nine, a routing that has been reworked several times over the club's long history. Mature cottonwoods, river channels and well-defended greens reward position far more than raw distance. Weekday green fees are among the better value in the Calgary orbit, and the grass-tee range and Foxes Den restaurant make it an easy half-day trip.
