Golf course
Waterton Park, Alberta
Waterton Lakes Golf Course is a heritage layout inside Waterton Lakes National Park, where the Alberta prairie runs straight into the Rocky Mountains with no foothills in between. Its first nine opened in 1922 and it grew to eighteen holes in 1935, with later improvements shaped by input from architect Stanley Thompson. Deer, elk and the occasional bear share the property, and the mountain season is short, running roughly from late May to early October.
