Golf course
Prince Rupert, British Columbia
Founded in Canada's centennial year of 1967, Prince Rupert Golf Club is an 18-hole course carved out of coastal temperate rainforest within minutes of downtown Prince Rupert. It plays to a par of 70 over roughly 5,890 yards, and towering hemlock, cedar and spruce squeeze the fairways so tightly that accuracy matters far more than distance. Rain-fed turf keeps the course green through the season, and mist rolling off the surrounding hills gives it a moody, secluded feel found nowhere else in the province. Deer, eagles and the occasional bear are regular company on the back nine.
