Golf course
Crawford Bay, British Columbia
Kokanee Springs is the Kootenays' destination golf resort, laid out by Norman H. Woods and opened for play in 1968 on the quiet east shore of Kootenay Lake at Crawford Bay. The par-71 layout stretches to roughly 6,600 yards and threads tree-lined corridors of cedar and fir between ponds and creek crossings, with the Purcell Mountains filling the skyline. Large, heavily bunkered greens and generous elevation change give the course a mountain-resort character that plays tougher than the yardage suggests. On-site lodging, villas and an RV park make it one of the few true stay-and-play properties in the region.
