Golf course
Kamloops, British Columbia
Founded in 1914, Kamloops Golf & Country Club is the oldest club in the Thompson region and has played as a full 18 since the back nine was built in 1967 on the old Brocklehurst property. The championship layout is a par 72 of 6,738 yards, laid out as mature parkland on a bench above the Thompson River with the arid Kamloops hills rising on every side. A 2009 redesign brought in new bentgrass greens and fairways, and the deep, sculpted bunkering from that work is the course's main defence. The dry Interior climate gives it one of the longest and firmest golf seasons in the province.
