Golf course
Bathurst, New Brunswick
Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club opened in 1958 as a nine-hole course designed by C.E. Robinson and was complete at eighteen holes by 1962. It runs along Youghall Drive on the shore of Bathurst Harbour near the Bay of Chaleur, with water in view from most of the round. The course plays to par 72 at 6,679 yards from the black tees, 6,203 from the blue and 5,140 from the red, with the black rated 72.3 against a slope of 129. The 13th, a 447-yard par 4 over a severely sloping fairway to a small three-tiered green, is its hardest hole.
