Cape Breton Highlands Links

Cape Breton Highlands Links opened in 1941 inside Cape Breton Highlands National Park at Ingonish Beach, a Stanley Thompson design built from 1939 and restored by Ian Andrew from 2008. It is an eighteen-hole course of par 72 measuring 6,592 yards from the blue tees, with a rating of 73.3 against a slope of 141 from the blues. The first six holes run over exposed high ground above Ingonish Bay without touching the shore, the routing then crosses the Cabot Trail into deep woods and hills, and the par-3 10th drops into the Clyburn Brook valley beneath Franey Mountain before ocean views return at the 15th. There is heavy elevation change and 57 bunkers, and the course is walkable.
